What You Need To Know!

Read each section below on what you need to know in regards to your lash enhancement treatment from pre-treatment, post-treatment and aftercare!

Pre-Treatment

  • Eyelash extensions should be removed at least 3—5 days prior to appointment
  • For best results, do NOT use waterproof mascara or a lash curler for 5 days prior to your appointment
  • Do not wear eye makeup to your appointment, including but not limited to: mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner, etc.
  • If needed, remove eye makeup with oil-free makeup remover
  • It is recommended to wash your hair prior to your appointment, as the lashes must avoid water for 48 hours after treatment
  • Every client MUST fill out a waiver prior to treatment

Post-Treatment

(for the next 48 hours)

  • NO WATER, STEAM, SWIMMING, SAUNAS, HOT TUBS, OR HEAVY EXERCISING THAT WOULD CAUSE EXCESSIVE SWEATING
  • Absolutely NO mascara, eyeliner, lash growth serums, lash extensions, or eye creams
  • Only body showers are recommended during this time to avoid getting water on the lashes, and keep your bathroom door propped open to prevent steam build up
  • Be very careful to avoid dripping cleanser into the eye area or anywhere near the lashes when washing your face
  • Do not rub your eyes

Aftercare

  • A nourishing keratin mascara or biotin serum is highly recommended and can be used after the initial 48 hours
  • Comb lashes upwards every day and throughout the day as needed
  • Avoid rubbing your eyes to prevent eyelashes from prematurely falling out

What You Should Know

  • Lash enhancements are great for those who are sensitive or allergic to lash extension adhesive, don’t like the maintenance or look of false lashes, or who are happy with their natural lashes but want to add a natural curl.
  • Lash enhancements are suitable for short and long eyelashes. However, if the lashes are too short you will have to wait until they have grown out in order to be eligible for the treatment.
  • You lose approximately 1-5 lashes a day. The hairs on our bodies–including our eyelashes–follow a natural growth cycle. Each individual eyelash has a four month lifespan, and is programmed to grow to a certain length, fall out, and grow again. The stages are anagen (growth phase), catagen (transition phase) and telogen (resting phase).
  • In the anagen (growth) phase it takes 30 to 45 days for your eyelash to grow from a little bud to it’s fullest potential. Only about 40% of the upper eyelashes and about 15% of the lower eyelashes are in the anagen phase at any one time which allows eyelash growth to rotate and for them to always be present on the eyelids.
  • Once the lash has grown to it’s full potential it enters the catagen (transition) phase, which lasts typically for 14 to 21 days. The eyelash stops growing and the follicle itself is getting prepared to replenish again.
  • Following the transition phase is the telogen (resting) phase, which can last anywhere between 90 to 120 days where no visible lash can be seen to the naked eye. Here, the eyelash will naturally fall out because the follicle has completely desiccated in order to return to the growth phase. A new growth cycle begins before a mature lash falls out.
  • Because of your natural hair growth cycle, your lashes may not look the same for the entirety of the enhancement. You will have a couple weeks of lifted and newly grown lashes mixed together. How long the treatment takes and how long it lasts will depend on how quickly your own lashes grow, as well as proper homeware following the treatment.
  • Allow at least 6 weeks between appointments
